Full-time opening in Kiel for an experienced Welder.
Openings on 1st, 2nd, and the weekend shift.
Work 4 10-hour shifts and have 3 day weekends.
Pay: based on experience.
This position is responsible for welding metal components and assemblies according to blueprints, work instructions, weld symbols, and established procedures. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with different materials, weld sizes, positions, and applications while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mig welding using spray transfer and short-circuit transfer processes in different positions.
- Perform basic grinding, deburring, and finishing of welded components when required.
- Set up and operate welding equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and specifications.
- Inspect welds, related dimensions, and cosmetic appearance to ensure they meet quality requirements and specifications.
- Use fixtures, jigs, measuring tools, and other equipment to ensure proper alignment and dimensions.
- Identify and correct welding defects such as porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, excessive spatter, and improper penetration.
- Use computer to record inspections and production activities.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• 2-3 years of previous experience as a GMAW Welder in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience with spray transfer and short-circuit welding.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and basic weld symbols.
• Ability to set up and adjust welding equipment based on material thickness and welding requirements.
• Ability to inspect your own work and recognize common welding defects.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
• Ability to recognize proper weld appearance, penetration, and profile.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work safely around welding equipment, heat, fumes, and moving equipment.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to support production needs.
